Ade Gorst
Having occasionally produced cartoons in very much an amateur capacity all my life. I accidentally became a "professional" cartoonist in 1999 when I was contacted by 'Dive Magazine'. They asked me to produce a monthly scuba diving related cartoon strip after seeing some of my doodles in a copy of a diving club newsletter. My first reaction to the phone call was; "Are you telling me people are actually willing to pay me to draw?!". I continued to produce a monthly strip (Buster Lung) for them for five years before underwater digital cameras became fashionable and I was eventually replaced by a photography competition.
My main source of income comes from being a professional diver in the film industry and most of my work is based on my experiences working underwater.
I will occasionally doodle for reward.
